Getting started with Scoop
Updated over a week ago

Scoop offers powerful planning tools to help you plan your next great office day. In this quick start guide, we’ll walk you through the first few steps to empower you to make great decisions on how and where to spend your time at work.

In this article, we’ll show you how to:

  1. Set your next day in the office

  2. Poll co-workers on their preferred office days

  3. Invite a co-worker to join you for coffee, lunch, or a day in the office

Before moving forward, make sure you’ve installed the Scoop Slack app.

1. Add your next office day

Scoop makes it easy to share your office plans with your team via Slack, Calendar, and across the Scoop platform. And it all starts with adding your next office day.

  1. Open the Scoop Slack App

  2. Click on the Home tab

  3. Choose your date from the calendar

2. Sync to Slack and Google Calendar

Once you’ve added your next office day, Scoop needs a few extra permissions to surface your work plans on your Slack status and calendar. Simply accept both prompts to connect your apps.

For Slack, work locations are synced once daily (5 AM EST) and automatically clear at the end of each working day (11 PM EST).

For Google Calendar, your work location will automatically sync in real-time (including any updates). Just navigate to your calendar to see your work location added as an all-day event. If you already have OOO events on your calendar, Scoop will sync those details across the rest of the Scoop platform.

You’ll also see work locations automatically added to any upcoming meetings under the attendee RSVP list.

  3. Choose the channel + the week you’re polling for

  4. Select Send Poll

Once a poll closes, Scoop will automatically surface the most popular day, including an easy way to confirm your plans.

4. Invite a co-worker to join you at the office

Recapture the magic of connecting in-person with In-Person Invites. Invites are coordinated via the Scoop scheduling assistant, including adding your confirmed plans to your calendar.

To send your first invite:
