How to create desk assignments
Updated over a week ago

Scoop allows admins the ability to assign specific desks to employees for each building location.

To set assigned desks follow the steps below:

  • Login to your Scoop dashboard.

  • Select Desks on the left navigation bar.

  • From the bottom right of the page, upload a CSV file containing desk assignments for your buildings.

  • After your CSV has been uploaded, you can select Upload floor plan for each office location to add images of floor plans. Accepted file types are PNG, JPG, and PDF.

When assigning a desk you’ll have the option of choosing Open seating, Individual seating, or Department seating. Once you’ve uploaded your CSV file and floor plan images, you’ll be able to view this in the dashboard as well as re-upload desk assignments and floor plans as needed.

Creating your CSV:

  • CSV supports one row per desk.

  • Each row should include: Building, Floor, Neighborhood, Desk label, Assignment type, and Assignee (employee email for individual assignments, department name/s for department assignments).

  • Assignee should be blank if the assignment type is open seating.

  • You’ll be able to assign employees desks in different buildings.

  • Employees can only have one assigned desk per building.

How to format your CSV Columns:

  • Building: This name should match the buildings saved under the Building tab in your dashboard.

  • Floor: The name of the floor where desks are located.

  • Neighborhood: A group of one or more desks that is unique to a given floor.

  • Desk Label: A desk identifier that is unique to a given floor.

  • Assignment Type: Must be labeled Department, Individual or Open. This space cannot be left blank.

  • Assignee: Use an employee email for a dedicated desk, a department name, e.g. “Marketing” for department desks, or leave blank when paired with the Open assignment type signaling that this desk is available to anyone.

Note: You’ll need to ensure you’ve added your company's workplace locations in order to assign desks.
