From Slack

If you installed Scoop for Slack:

After you set your next in-office day from the welcome message, Scoop will automatically prompt you to sync with Google Calendar from the same Messages section. Simply click Connect to Google Calendar.

If you’re not ready to sync Scoop with Calendar, you’re welcome to select one of the options at the bottom of the message to dismiss this step.

If you were invited to Scoop for Slack:

Once you’ve added your next office day, simply accept the permission prompts to connect Scoop with Slack and Calendar.

If you previously dismissed the option to connect with Calendar:

  1. Head to the Home screen in the Scoop Slack app

  2. Under Manage your account click Settings

  3. Then from Google Calendar select Connect

  4. This will redirect you to the Google login screen where you’ll be able to choose your company Google account to connect with Scoop

Once connected, you can use the Manage settings option for Google Calendar to control what calendar features you’d like to use.

From Mobile

  • Tap Start from the Connect Calendar option on the green banner near the top of the Now tab.

  • Then select Connect Calendar

  • You should then see a pop-up page from the bottom of your screen, select Sign in with Google.

  • This option will redirect you to your web browser where you’ll be able to choose your company Google account to connect with Scoop.

  • Once you select your Google account and complete the login process, you will need to enable permissions to allow Scoop to view and edit events on your Google calendar.

After enabling permissions, you’ll be all set and will be able to navigate back to the Scoop app.

Sync your Work Location

Once you’ve connected Scoop to your Calendar and set your work location, you’ll automatically see it appear as an all-day event. And if your plans change (hey, that’s flexible work after all), Scoop will automatically sync those updates for you in real-time.

When you have Out Of Office events on your Calendar, Scoop will automatically sync those details across the rest of the Scoop platform including Slack, mobile, and Calendar extensions (Chrome, Edge).

Turn on Meeting Workflows

If you're a meeting owner who has opted into Meeting Workflows from your Scoop settings, you will receive a Slack DM for newly created meetings on your calendar, offering the flexibility to manage notifications.

If you decide a meeting doesn’t require notifications, simply select Skip. If you change your mind, don’t worry! You can always adjust your notification settings from the Home tab of the Scoop app.

See Meeting Guests’ Plans

When viewing the guests’ section for any meeting on your calendar, we’ll automatically show you where each meeting guest plans to be.

You’ll also be able to see meeting guests' details from your Snapshots and on mobile, too.
