How to manage meeting notifications
Updated over 6 months ago

With Scoop's Meeting Workflows, we make it easy to stay on top of your upcoming meetings with powerful, timely notifications.

In this article, we’ll guide you through the different types of meeting notifications and how you can manage notification settings to your preferences.

Meeting notifications and reminders

Meeting Workflows uses a variety of notifications to keep meeting organizers and attendees informed of their upcoming meetings. These include:

  1. Direct messages for meeting owners.

  2. New meeting channel or DM notification sent to Scoop created channels or DMs when meeting owners turn on Workflows.

    • With options to rename the channel or let us know if the Scoop created channel or DM is not needed.

  3. 24-hour prep notifications for new and recurring meetings.

  1. 15-minute reminders for all meeting attendees.

✍️ Note: Scoop will utilize the same channel when sending notifications for recurring meetings, ensuring all the necessary information is conveniently accessible when and where you need it.

Notification management

As a meeting owner, once you schedule a new meeting on your calendar with two or more guests, Scoop will send you a DM in Slack. From here, you can tailor notification preferences, deciding if you would like attendees to receive notifications for the meeting, which channel notifications will be sent to, and which type of notifications attendees receive.

Meeting notifications can also be managed within the Scoop Slack app. Simply navigate to the Home tab, choose View full schedule, locate the meeting you would like to manage notifications for, and then click Settings to select.

Managing notifications from a meeting channel

Channel members can easily manage notifications by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner of a 24-hour or 15-minute notification and selecting Manage Notifications. If your meeting doesn't require a dedicated channel, you can merge notifications into an existing channel from this same screen.

✍️ Note: Meeting notifications can only be merged into a private channel if the Scoop bot is in that channel.

It is best to agree on any changes to notifications with the entire group, as this is effective for all meeting guests within the channel.
