We have so many meetings today that it can feel like a full-time job trying to keep them all straight. That's why Scoop's Meeting Workflows helps you and your teammates ensure every meeting is a valuable use of your time through powerful, timely notifications.
In this article, we’ll walk you through enabling Meeting Workflows for the right meetings and how to choose which meetings should have a dedicated private Scoop channel, a group DM to reduce noise in busier channels, or be seamlessly integrated into existing channels.
✍️ Note: Meeting owners must have the Scoop Slack app and Google Calendar connected with Scoop to use Meeting Workflows.
Choose Where to Send Meeting Notifications
Meeting owners who have opted into receiving Meeting Workflows will receive a Slack DM for newly created meetings on their calendar, offering the flexibility to manage notification settings.
Meeting notifications can be sent to existing channels within your Slack workspace, or you can opt for Scoop to create a dedicated meeting channel or group DM.
✍️ Note: Scoop can only create a group DM for meetings with 8 or fewer attendees.

If you decide a meeting doesn’t require notifications, simply select Not now. If you change your mind, don’t worry! You can always adjust your notification settings from the Home tab of the Scoop app.
💡Tip: Meeting owners can quickly manage their meeting channel settings by typing "Manage schedule" in the Slack search bar, or using the /Manage schedule Slack command.
Scoop will use the same channel or group DM for recurring meetings, ensuring all the necessary information is conveniently accessible when and where you need it. For non-recurring meetings, we'll prompt you to archive Scoop-created channels 3 days after the meeting concludes.
Scoop-created meeting channels are set to private, and only attendees from the same Slack workspace as the meeting creator are added to ensure a secure collaboration space. When attendees are added or removed from a meeting, we’ll consider that and update your Scoop-created meeting channel accordingly.
💡Tip: Try creating a group in your Slack sidebar for your meeting channels so you can easily find them in the future.
Renaming Meeting Channels
When you choose to send meeting notifications in a Scoop-created channel, we’ll assign channel titles starting with 'mtg,' derived from your calendar's meeting names. If your meeting name is updated on your calendar, we’ll update your channel title, too!
Meeting attendees can personalize the channel name. Simply click the Rename Channel button at the top of the meeting channel and enter a title your group may find more relevant or easier to locate later.
✍️ Note: Names must be lowercase, without spaces or periods, and must be less than 80 characters.
